Clickbank affiliates are advertised as making extra money from the programs offered by member sites. The member sites will allow affiliates to make profits from their products just for referring traffic to the site. The affiliates are asked to place a banner or link on their website that will direct traffic to the member site and for each click or click that leads to a purchase they will receive a commission. It seems almost too easy and many people will scare away from it. You can earn money as an affiliate but the only way to earn any real cash that amounts to anything is to be a super affiliate.
The only way to earn money as an affiliate on clickbank is to understand how it works. The members are offering the affiliates a payout for each time a user clicks a banner or link placed on their site that leads back to the members site or for clicks that lead in a purchase from the embers site. The majority of member sites know they will not have a huge increase in their traffic from the affiliate and expect to have a very small amount of money actually paid out. The main purpose of having an affiliate or many affiliates is to increase the page rank in the search engines for the member sites. The backlinks that are placed on the affiliates sites are used in rating the website PR, the higher the PR the more traffic will be generated naturally to the site and the more backlinks the site has the higher the PR will be, so really the only thing a member site needs from you is for you to place that link on your site.
The only way for an affiliate to earn any real money by placing these banners or links on their webpage is to ensure that the traffic is generated to the member site and that it is the right traffic.
Think about your own websites optimization. You spent time and money creating the keywords and the content to target a specified audience to your website, so the only way to generate traffic to a member site is if the traffic is the same targeted audience . The traffic that arrives on your site should be interested in what your member site has to offer, if they are not they will never click the banner or link or make any purchases and therefore you will earn no money from having that link or banner on your site.
If the member site is of no interest to your visitors they will never click the links or banners and therefore you will earn no money. In addition to you not earning money you have to realize the member site is still benefiting from having that link placed on your website. They are increasing their traffic and sales, just not in a way that requires them to pay you. If your website is about traveling on a budget then good member site choices would be ones that offer travel deals, travel information, travel kits, or even sites that offer contests where the prizes are generally trips.
