Writing and submitting articles is one of the most effective means of promoting and improving the search engine rankings of your website. The process is fairly simple. You write articles, forward them to article submission websites, and wait for webmasters looking for content to add them to their websites.
There are three related benefits that accrue to article writers. First, as people continue to see their name on articles, they begin to think of them as authorities. Many very successful business people have built their reputations by writing frequent articles.
Benefit number two is that article readers will click on the link in the author's box, resulting in immediate, increased traffic to his or her website.
Even more important is benefit number three, the fact that each time an article is added to another webmaster's site, the author's site gains a link which helps its ranking in all major search engines. Remember, articles on any subject will help you, but most helpful for improving your search engine rankings are those on subjects closely related to the subject of your sit.
Be sure to compose the author's box as carefully as your article. It should include your name, a sentence about you, and a text link, with appropriate anchor text, to your website. Note that the text links in the author's box below use the terms most likely to be used by people searching for websites like mine.
To write successful articles...articles other webmasters will want to add to their sites, here are a few hints.
1. Write "how to" articles; articles with practical information.
2. Remember that your title should create curiousity and draw readers in.
3. Proofread. Spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors are the kiss of death. Webmasters do not wish to add articles filled with errors to their sites.
4. Be brief. If you can say what you need to 300 words, don't use 500.
5. Be aware of the audience you are trying to reach and give them what they want (or need).
No matter how well you write, not all of your articles will be winners. But, if you choose your subjects well, distribute your articles to at least fifteen or twenty article directory sites, at produce at least one article a week, you should begin to see results fairly soon.
