A consumer only has one thing in mind when he or she goes out to buy a product or service or even order from a catalog printing – “What’s in it for me?” What are the benefits for them if they buy your product or avail of your service?
It’s the benefits. No matter how great your offering, your product or service is worth nothing if you can’t provide them the benefits in your collateral such as your cheap catalog printing. What’s in it for them? Unfortunately, with our eagerness to promote our business, we forget to put our target clients at the forefront of our marketing efforts. Most of the time, we’re very keen on marketing what we want that we totally ignore what our target clients really need and want. We instead insist on what we know would be the best for them. We tell them what they want. We tell them what they need.
But our customers know what would be good for them. The client really knows what’s best. All that our target clients want is a product or service that would give them the most benefits. Whether they’re in the business themselves or just to improve their daily lives, the client knows what will improve their bottom line.
All the client wants is a product or service that will provide solutions to their problems and concerns. They want to see a big return from the hard earned money they are spending. But isn’t that a concern for all of us? Even for a business owner, what matters is that we get the exact if not more than the returns from our investments. Our catalog printing for example should always have a bottom line.
The point here is that if you can’t make them see a return from their hard earned money, your efforts would be worthless, no matter that you hired the best catalog printing company for your marketing campaign. Your target clients won’t see the value in your marketing efforts at all. If you cannot show them the bottom line then you don’t have a chance, however slim, of having anyone buy from or do business with you.
Your objective now is to inform your target clients of your worth. Let them know of the benefits to be had when they deal with you. Your task is not anymore to sell your products and services; rather, your job is to help them drive their business forward and increase their bottom line. Until you have the benefits, you should never even try to market your business. You’ll just fail miserably in the process.
