The world of motor biking is changing before our eyes. The first motorbikes were made from salvaged bombers during World War I. They were highly efficient machines that could quickly and easily get a person from one place to another with a minimum of hassle, no matter the elements or terrain. While this is still true of today’s modern motorbikes, there are now many different varieties out there.

The average motorbike has a gas engine that takes regular unleaded gas. This is great for most people, as you can drive right up to any gas station in order to quickly and easily fill your tank. However, just like with the rest of the automobile industry, changes are being made to run these fun bikes off of alternative fuels. One option is the electric motorbike. This is an interesting option because it provides the best of motorbikes and regular bikes. When you’re going up a tough hill, or simply tired, you can engage the motorbike capabilities. However, to save your battery, you can peddle downhill or while you’re coasting. This combines the positive aspects of motorbikes with the convenience of a regular bicycle. These bikes can typically run safely at up to 30 mph and have an average run time of 120 minutes before the battery is killed.

Another type of motorbike that’s currently in production is a hydrogen bike. There have been a few of these type made as prototypes but they are currently not being sold on retail market. These types of bikes are almost entirely green, which means that the fuel cells used to power them provide almost no emissions into the atmosphere. The current prototype can run for up to four hours without the hydrogen tank being recharged, though they are currently working to improve that amount of time. Overall this would be a huge asset to the motorbike options out there. It would provide an option for the more environmentally conscious to enjoy their off-roading time while still knowing that their impact on the environment is minimal.

The key to any of these bikes becoming popular is to effectively market them to consumers. This doesn’t just mean placing ads that get attention. This means that we must find a way to show the motorbike fans of the world how much better these bikes are. Not just for the environment but for our wallets out. If you’re going to have a great time enjoy your motorbike, why not do it with as little environmental impact as possible? When riding motorbikes it is important to have motor bike insurance online to safeguard you if you should be in an accident.
